Persona Education Newsletter, Mar-21
Imagine a school community equipped with a mental toolkit enabling them to adapt to one another for the sake of harmony and positive outcomes.
Prior to Covid-19, there was already plenty of evidence that young people were suffering in their social and emotional wellbeing. And there is a continued decrease in happiness with life among 10-15 year olds. School culture, school community, school climate – this is a big part of the solution.
Schools are all about relationships and interactions. The most successful schools work hard at, and invest in, their communities. These schools understand that trust, respect, modelling behaviours and giving agency all have an impact on the wellbeing of the learning community, as well as raising aspirations and attainment. Persona can help, taking students on an exciting journey of understanding themselves and others, as part of a social-emotional learning curriculum, and using that knowledge to become more adaptable.
