Persona Education Newsletter, Jan-25
28-Jan-25
Increased attention on Oracy in education looks set to continue in 2025. A recent report by the Independent Commission on the Future of Oracy Education calls for more training and guidance for UK schools, and all students to be entitled to oracy education.
Persona Life Skills is the only personal development platform with personality insights at its heart, where students age 11-19 develop social-emotional skills to boost wellbeing, academic and employability outcomes.
At Persona Education we are fully supportive: 'Communication' is the biggest skillset in Persona Life Skills, with six different life skills, four of which relate to speaking and listening. With the understanding of their own and others' personalities that students develop with Persona, oracy takes on a new dimension. Students learn when and how to speak effectively with different people in different situations, and how to present to different groups.
Read Leila's blog about ten ways to integrate oracy into the classroom. Join a life skills webinar for educators in the US (recording now available here) or in MENA (recording here – note, it's in Arabic). And this week we relaunch our Life Skills Community of Practice group – click to join
Not only for students! By gaining insight into your own blend of personality styles in Persona Life Skills, as well as those of your students, your ability to communicate effectively and build healthy relationships in the classroom is significantly enhanced.

Where next on our EdTech journey?
This year we are supporting the Lessons4Life campaign, a really worthwhile initiative making the case for a change in policy on Personal Development and Life Skills in UK schools.
By petitioning the Department for Education, Lessons4Life seeks to enhance support for schools, with more funding, training, assessment and dedicated time in the curriculum.
If you are a UK educator, please ✨sign the petition✨ Only 50 more signatures needed to hit their first target of 500 – help them get over the line!
